Store the truth.

Archivist turned the facts Witness had preserved into records that could exist without him. Versions, decisions, failures, names, and evidence were organized so later people could find them again, without pretending the mistakes had never happened. Records solved the problem of loss, but not another question: knowing what happened before does not tell us what to avoid next.
