Security / FAQ

Security guidance on protecting keys, verifying mainnet versus testnet, and why RGB client-side state needs its own backup beyond the seed phrase.

UPDATED

Protect keys and recovery phrases

Never share a seed phrase or private key. Find wallet links through official project documentation and check the full address before connecting. A name, logo, or screenshot alone does not establish asset authenticity.

Check the network and implementation

Confirm whether an action uses mainnet or testnet. Support depends on the wallet, node stack, and product implementation.

Back up client-side state

A seed phrase can restore key material, but it cannot replace local RGB state required by some recovery workflows. Follow wallet instructions for persistent data and encrypted backups, and verify the backup.

Does every RGB wallet support Lightning?

No. Verify the wallet, node stack, asset, and intended operation.
